Roundtable
Is held on the second
Thursday of every month at 7 pm. This is an opportunity for supplemental
training as well as youth protection and basic leader essentials every other
month. Plan to attend! You can pick up important information on District and
Council events. Roundtable takes place at the LDS Church on Alicia just past
Aliso Creek at Wood Canyon at the Regional Park entrance.
Friends of Scouting (FOS)
FOS provides a chance to make a financial donation to our Council
(no United Way support at this time), so it may provide facilities, services
to leaders and families and programs to our youth! The tremendous effort of
support in our 2006 campaign helped so much to deliver the scouting program
to the youth of the El Camino Real District.
We thank Victor Lundquist for helping us to coordinate
the district family FOS campaign for 2007. Victor will be contacting unit
leaders for information regarding their scheduled Blue & Gold dinner or
Court of Honor during February.
If you would, please reply to Victor, Edwin or Jim with this information about
your Scouting event. It will be greatly appreciated!!
To keep in mind when planning:
1. Date of event (if you do not have a date certain, please indicate
approximate date).
2. Time of the event.
3. Location of the event (Building & Address).
4. Total number of registered youth in your Pack, Troop, Team
or Crew.
5. Updated leader contact information (phone numbers & email
addresses).
I will be happy to discuss this with you at any time. If you would like to speak with me, please call 949-633-7434 or email: vic.lundquist@gmail.com.
Once we have the above information, we will follow-up with you to inform you of the name and contact information of the person who will attend to give the presentation. Thank you very much for your dedication and efforts on behalf of our youth in this great organization. Vic Lundquist, El Camino Real Friends Of Scouting Chairman
Camping
2007 is upon us. Hopefully all units have planned their 2007 activities.
This should include a campout or other outdoor day trip (hike or bike) each
month. For Cub Packs there are several family camps planned for the spring and
summer. If you need any ideas about where to
go, or you need the list of approved camps for for Cub Packs, please contact
Ren Higgins at 949-489-0787 or e-mail rshiggins@cox.net.
Save the Week
Cub Scout Day Camp 2007 will be held on July
23-27.
